Known for his ever-present smile, Dr. Morales believes in building relationships with his patients. He strives to relate compassionately with people in all circumstances. Understanding kids and parents alike sometimes fear medical environments, Dr. Morales takes the time to educate patients and build their confidence in his medical/dental team. He ensures patients gain an understanding of their treatment options and how these options can benefit their healthy smile. The ability to analyze situations and maintain a high level of focus—especially in trauma situations—are just two of the many strengths attributed to Dr. Morales.

Since he was young, Dr. Shaikh was very interested in healthcare and always saw it as part of his future. After wearing braces for part of his teenage years, he was amazed at how much a person’s face and appearance could be changed. It was this inspiration that made him want to go to dental school. At this time, he also started shadowing his dentist to learn more about the field. In dental school, Dr. Shaikh realized that the pace of orthodontic work was not as exciting or rewarding as maxillofacial surgery. In addition to changing someone’s appearance, oral surgery is more intricate and more hands-on. Whether a surgery takes twenty minutes or six hours, Dr. Shaikh is inspired by achieving end-results for patients that can return them to back to normal form and function. As such, he chose to specialize as an Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeon.

Even from a very young age, Dr. Alicea knew he wanted to become a doctor—a surgeon specifically. At age 11, his twin brother had a bicycle accident that required oral surgery. Dr. Alicea was so fascinated by the surgeon’s skills and the wonderful results he achieved for his brother, inspiration struck. He knew that oral surgery would be his path. He attended dental school, where the faculty supported his fast-track into oral surgery. As it turned out, he became skilled in many specialties, including prosthodontics. As an oral surgeon today, Dr. Alicea combines other specialty skills to assist patients and fellow doctors in a variety of circumstances.

When first introduced to Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery, Dr. Antonos was immediately inspired to make it his career path. In fact, it was love at first sight because it combined the best of the professions of dentistry, medicine and surgery, all of which he had considered as careers. He knew that the profession would challenge him both intellectually and technically while giving him the opportunity to care for patients in ways that could make a difference in their lives.
