Orofacial Dental Implant Surgery | Nerve Repositioning, Impacted Wisdom Teeth and Distraction Osteogenesis

Luke Antonos Jr, DMD

Orofacial Dental Implant Surgery | Jaw Bone Health, Cost of Dental Implants and Bone Grafting for Implants

When first introduced to Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery, Dr. Antonos was immediately inspired to make it his career path. In fact, it was love at first sight because it combined the best of the professions of dentistry, medicine and surgery, all of which he had considered as careers. He knew that the profession would challenge him both intellectually and technically while giving him the opportunity to care for patients in ways that could make a difference in their lives.

From a technical stand point he is a perfectionist. He always strives to first take time to educate his patients fully and then to achieve the best possible results with the most conservative treatments available first. His most important goal is to treat his patients with compassion and a full understanding for his patients’ treatment needs and wants. As he had his fair share of dental problems as a young adult, he can easily place himself in his patient’s shoes, which constantly reminds him that the surgeries he performs are not routine from his patients’ perspectives. He can easily relate to some of the apprehensions and psychological concerns patients sometimes experience which allow him to always listen and address them with his patients. He believes that these skills allow him to provide better and more comfortable care.

Always approachable and personable, it may be Dr. Antonos’ humble beginnings that enable him to relate so easily with patients from all different backgrounds. He feels that most of the time he can be direct with his patients and discuss their health issues and treatments in terms that are comfortable to them. It allows his patients to take charge of their care and make informed decisions.

Upon meeting him you will immediately pick up on his accent and be surprised to learn that he is actually from Belgium where he was born and raised up until his early teens. He moved to Florida with his family over twenty years ago and now considers himself a Floridian. He loves all things Florida has to offer and finds the state gives him great ways to spend time with his young family, wife Lucia, daughter Alexandra and son Luke. They love visiting the nearby beaches, spending time at the pool, enjoying Orlando’s many attractions as well as playing tennis and golf. They are also all big Florida Gators, Orlando Magic and Orlando City Soccer Fans.
